Woman
9" x 12" / acrylic on canvas / sold
Underneath the richness of the woman’s skin is painted the seasons and the cycles of the moon. They were painted on the canvas first as they were shown to me in a dream: four varying moons suspended in the same night sky. I wondered what they meant, and why had I seen them? What was I supposed to do with what I had been shown? Then one day, I picked up the painting to finish what I had started and “Woman” rose to the surface. There was no thought, only the brush moving across the canvas and the energy of the moons creating what they understood and had knowledge of, more than I did. There was a velvety, deep, sensual warmth and richness to that night sky and the glowing moons of my dreams. I feel the same richness emanating from the breasts of the woman that the moons gave birth to.
