soar
20" x 10" / acrylic on canvas
I have been pushed and I have leapt. I have travelled beyond the edge and I have returned. The distance between, initially feeling like a frightening free fall, but as I continued to pick up momentum the winds changed, and I began to soar.
The fear of this edge no longer has the power to weigh me down; the fear became the wind that allowed my wings to open and for me to begin to fly.
I now know the road that must be travelled and danced in order to continue to make this journey and return again and again. I do not travel alone, for that beautifully transformed wind is the partner that I dance with along the way.
