We are bridges between worlds and we hold the potential to become aware of the value, magic, mystery, challenges, territory, and reality of both. I propose that we are an invitation to a new way of being. A way that honors, acknowledges, and remembers the past while embracing the possibility of a different future. The more we are successful in our understanding of who we are and integrating our experiences of existing in the Borderlands, the more we understand the role and the purpose that we are here to serve and fulfill. This self-acceptance of who we are allows us to stand and speak from a point of stillness: one that allows us to extend our identity and ourselves from a place of compassion. This compassion is born out of the knowledge that we cannot separate ourselves or our way of being from all living things, as they are us and we are them. There is an exhilaration in being a participant in the further evolution of humankind and a satisfaction that certain faculties and dormant areas of consciousness are being activated and awakened. In this way we understand and make sense of our experiences and alienation and come to be messengers who speak for the Many.
Please do not stand in the comfort of your own cosmology. I acknowledge that this request holds particular
challenges and a willingness to be vulnerable. The willingness to move away from the familiarity of what has previously been known or accepted as “truth”. It requires willingness and allowing oneself to be moved into a new place or realm in order to arrive at new understandings.
I consider my work to be a breakthrough when it reveals the inner ceremony. I believe that all inner experiences are valid and can, if we follow them with honesty and altruistic motivations, lead us to learning more about ourselves and the universe. In this way I experience inner ceremony as a form of initiation which is continually beginning my spiritual
and artistic unfolding. For me it is the beginning of a new mode of awareness, where I can no longer walk in the sleep of everyday life but am alive to my own inner divinity and the call of the Divine source of my origins. In these moments it is the self that is being changed, and it is the self that has to assent to the initiation and the spiritual gifts the ceremony offers.
I pray that you will follow your own mystery, not pretending to resolve it, but rather embracing it and welcoming what medicine it holds for us all.
